Car Show - NOPI - Budds Creek, MD Posted 5/20/08 - Brett
Team Absolute attended the NOPI car show series at Budds Creek, Maryland for our second year in a row. We took home several Club Participation trophies, including: 2nd Place in Club Quality, 2nd Place in Club Quantity, and 3rd Place in the Loudest Club (yes, the clubs scream at the announcer during the award ceremony for a trophy). Out of the 6 cars that Team Absolute had attending only 2 placed in the car show. Congrats goes out to Davion who placed 3rd in his Street Sedan/Lux Coupe class and Aaron who placed 3rd in his Street Sport Compact Subaru class. NOPI's classing and judging continues to be challenging however the show scene keeps us coming back for more. The next NOPI event that Team Absolute will be attending will be in our home state on August 16-17 at Virginia Motorsports Park. Team Absolute will no longer be meeting up at Kmart. Starting May 10th, our new meeting location will at Virginia Solar Tinting. Their physical address is: 10535 Hull Street Road Midlothian, Virginia 23112. The meeting time will remain the same at 8 P.M. Special thanks goes out to VST for making this happen.
Team Absolute attended the First Annual Priority Toyota/Scion car show on Saturday night. We had 9 members attend. They gave out first, second, & third place trophies for the overall best cars in the show. Matt with his Camaro took home 3rd place. I would also like to take this time to introduce some of our newest members. Aaron with his 2005 Dodge Neon SXT, Tres with his 1994 Nissan Sentra LE, and Chris with his 1998 Ford ZX2. Team Absolute walked away with 55 trophies out of the 11 car shows that we attended, 2 of them being Best Club Participation trophies in the 2007 season. We had the best season so far. We are ending this show season with a total of 10 members. I want to thank every member and friend of Team Absolute 07 for your hard work, dedication, and integrity for making the season one of the most enjoyable seasons so far. As for 2008, view the "Upcoming Events" section to see when we are getting together for a Car Club Meeting or Car Show. Our first meeting will be on February 9th, 2008 @ 8:00 at our normal meeting spot (K-Mart's Upper Parking Lot @ Hull and Genito). See you then!
